How dental technology benefits our patients?

At Expertise Dental, we have the latest technology in our office.  But we haven’t made these purchases just to brag that we have all these gadgets.  Quite the contrary.  We have amassed this technology for one single, very important purpose.  Our patients.

What are the benefits of dental technology?

The first and most important benefit of having dental technology is how it helps us determine what is going on in your mouth.  We would call this diagnosis.  Simply put, if you are having an issue, our technology will enable to better pinpoint what is causing that issue and our training and education will enable us to find the best solution.

For instance, every new patient in our practice gets a 3D scan.  This scan gives us a comprehensive view of your mouth and the surrounding anatomy and is a vital part of ensuring all is well with your teeth and bone.

Secondly, our technology gives us the ability to save you time.  We know how busy everyone is these days and if we can do a procedure in one visit rather than two or three, we think you’d prefer that.

For example, we have technology that allows us to do crowns in a single visit.  Not only that, but our dentists have also trained on how to make these crowns look every bit as good (if not better) than what a laboratory can create.

Thirdly, our technology allows us to educate you.  We see our patients as part of our team.  It is our mission to equip you with the knowledge and tools to maintain your oral health in between your routine checkups

It also allows us to show you changes that are occurring in your mouth over time.  Our scanners can create a digital model of your teeth and gums that we can compare to past and future images to track things like tooth wear and gum recession.

What technology do we have?

Digital scanners

These scanners take the place of those gooey impression that probably made you gag a time or two.  In fact, studies show that this technology is overwhelming preferred over older techniques.  In one study, 100% of patients preferred the scanner.  We love this technology because it’s sure to improve your experience in our office.

CAD/CAM

This is our in-house lab technician.  Should you need a crown, in most cases, instead of sending our patients home in a temporary crown for 3 or 4 weeks until the lab can make your final crown, we can make it that same visit.  Utilizing the same great materials the lab uses, and some training and practice, we’ll send you home as good as new and ready to eat dinner without any restrictions.

CT scanner

Simply put, our 3D imaging allows us to see, with more clarity, things that might be happening in your head.  Having TMJ pain?  We can see that joint clearly from all angles and can now diagnose your issue much better than we could with older 2D imaging.

3D Printing

Our 3D printers allow us to use FDA approved materials to do all sorts of things.  Having an implant placed?  Our printer allows us to make a guide that ensures your implant is placed into the perfect position.  Making you an emergency nightguard…we can do that.

Need a temporary tooth after having a tooth out…we’ve got you.  It’s life and things happen.  With a printer, we can generally make what we need in our office to keep your smile looking great.

Digital Photography

We want you to love your smile.  The photographs we take help us to analyze your smile and discuss with you anything you might like to do to improve or maintain it.
